“The museum … offers challenging learning opportunities to engage, educate, and enrich audiences of all ages.” – From the museum’s mission statement
The museum offers tours for children, students, and adults of the permanent art collection and temporary exhibitions. In order to secure a desired time for a tour and ensure a learning experience, we encourage groups to schedule their tours at least one month in advance by calling 785.532.7718 or e-mailing the senior educator (klwalk@ksu.edu). Every effort will be made to accommodate all requests.
The museum has a number of educational resources that can be used in the museum while others are available for loan to schools, early childhood programs, social service organizations, and home school groups.
Individuals are always welcomed to inquire about volunteering as a docent or in other areas of the museum, such as the education, registration, curatorial, and marketing departments. A variety of skills and experience are always needed.
The education and public programs policy of the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art is to provide diverse and life-long learning experiences related to the visual arts and the creative process. Programs are to be based on the museum’s permanent collection and temporary exhibits. Programming related to significant contemporary issues can be considered on an individual basis.
