Gifts of Artwork

Thank you for your interest in donating artwork to the Beach Museum of Art. The museum’s collecting focus is on the visual art of Kansas and the surrounding region. All donated art will serve the community and the teaching, research, and service missions of Kansas State University.

Collecting priorities:

  • Art by members of historically underrepresented communities
  • Prints and drawings by American artists with a relationship to the museum’s existing holdings

Preparing to donate:

  • Please note that all gift proposals are reviewed by a committee to determine if they meet the needs of the museum. This review can take up to three months.
  • To allow sufficient time for gift processing by the end of the calendar year, donation inquiries should be made before October 31.
  • Artwork should be in good condition.
  • Donors should be able to establish clear title to an artwork and provide documentation of previous ownership when possible.
  • The K-State Foundation provides donation receipts for all gifts of artwork. If you are interested in your donation being receipted as a tax-deductible gift, please include supporting information for how values were determined in compliance with IRS guidelines. It is the donor’s responsibility to obtain and provide this information to the Foundation.
  • Donors are encouraged to consider giving an additional financial gift with an artwork donation to help support the long-term care of the collection.

If you would like to donate artwork to the museum, please reach out to us by email at beachart@ksu.edu or call the museum at 785-532-7718. Please provide as much of the following information as possible with your inquiry:
